Welcome to the New LDTR Website
After months of work behind the scenes, we’re excited to launch the brand new Lysterfield District Trail Riders website — and we think it’s a pretty big step forward for the club.
Whether you’re a long-time member, a regular on the trails or someone who’s just discovered Lysterfield for the first time, this site is built with you in mind. Here’s what’s new, what’s changed, and why we think it matters.
A True Home for LDTR
The old site did the job, but the new one does it properly. We wanted a place that genuinely reflects who LDTR is — a 100% volunteer-run club that pours thousands of hours into the trails, the community and the riding experience at Lysterfield Park.
That means real trail information, real event listings, real faces behind the club — not just a list of links. If you’ve ever wondered what LDTR actually does, this site gives you the full picture.
Everything in One Place — Including Events
One of the biggest improvements is how we handle events. We know not everyone is on social media, and we’ve heard from plenty of riders who’ve missed trail builds, social rides or race days because they only ever got posted to Facebook or Instagram.
That’s changed. The site now pulls in events from multiple sources in real time — including TidyHQ for club events and social rides, Parks Victoria’s ParkConnect system for trail build and maintenance days, and Race Result for upcoming race events. Everything is listed on the Events Calendar and updated automatically as events are confirmed.
No more missing out because you’re not scrolling Instagram at the right moment.
The Trails, Properly Documented
Lysterfield has 21 trails and we’ve given each one its own page — with a description, difficulty rating, distance, trail type and a link to the Trailforks profile. You can browse by difficulty grade or explore all trails to plan your next ride.
We’ve also built out the Trail Conditions and Trail Map pages so you’ve got everything you need before you head out.
Get Involved — In More Ways Than One
LDTR is a volunteer club and we can’t do what we do without people putting their hand up. The new Get Involved section lays out all the ways you can contribute — from trail builds and dig days to ride leading, skills coaching, grant writing, committee roles and more.
If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved with the club, this is the place to start.
Sponsors and the Trail Adoption Program
Our sponsors make a lot of what we do possible. The new Sponsors section gives proper recognition to the businesses and organisations backing LDTR — and if your business wants to connect with Melbourne’s mountain biking community, the Trail Adoption Program is a great way to do it.
What’s Coming
The site is live but it’s not finished — no website ever really is. Over the coming months we’ll be adding more trail build articles, race recaps, club news and updates through the Articles section. We’ll also be expanding trail content and keeping the events calendar as up to date as possible.
If something isn’t working, a link is broken, or you’ve got a suggestion for something you’d like to see on the site — we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch via the contact page and let us know.
Thanks for riding with us. See you on the trails.
