Cultural & Heritage Interpretations Session Day Summary

Last Saturday LDTR and Parks Victoria held an interpretations session on the Cultural and Heritage aspects of Lysterfield Park. 16+ attendees listened to Barry Coombes (who represents Aboriginal cultural heritage matters on Parks Victoria Land) speak about the history of the land, the native groups who resided in different areas throughout Victoria, cultural artifacts within the park and also the future impacts on the mountain bike network.

This was a great day for our keen trail builders who learnt about the impacts of building and the reasoning behind respecting the cultural aspects of the land when building.

LDTR are proud to have the opportunity and permission to work with the cultural owners of this land and to be able to collaborate also with Parks Victoria together on the recreational aspects of the park.

A big thanks to Barry, the LDTR attendees and Parks Victoria for an informative and useful interpretations session.
