Cultural Heritage Interpretations Session for LDTR
Parks Victoria are offering a specific Cultural Heritage Interpretations Session for LDTR at Lysterfield Park, with Barry Coombes (who represents Aboriginal cultural heritage matters on Parks Victoria Land).
This will be extremely helpful for identifying culturally significant artifacts to look out for when out in the park. It also strengthens our relationship with Parks Victoria and will help us when completing future trail builds and maintenance throughout the year by providing us with useful information.
The session will run on January 20 from 10am to 12pm (approx).
This event will be capped at 25 attendees (with some leeway) so that the session is not drawn out too long and the most important information can be shared.
To register for the event, please use the Park Connect page link: https://www.parkconnect.vic.gov.au/secure-volunteer-home/secure-planned-activity/?id=cc90dd8f-b2eb-e711-bd60-0003ff6f8232
If you haven’t made a Park Connect account before, you can sign up and enter the compulsory details sections.
From there, just join the Lysterfield District Trail Riders group and then join the activity. If you need any help with this, please let me know as I am more than willing to assist you.
This website is replacing our sign up written sheet at builds and makes it more efficient for Parks Victoria in the long run.
We’ll meet at the Parks Victoria Yard just like a usual trail build, however you won’t be needing to bring anything other than some water and snacks, and some walking shoes. Might do a BBQ depending on the weather.
This event will replace our January trail build (due to us waiting on Parks Victoria to complete some work before we can get digging for 2018 – we’ll be doing some big builds this year… but we have to be a little bit more patient until we get the green light).
Hope the trails are treating you all well!
