Fund The Trails
Write · Fund · Ride
LDTR relies on grants and Trail Adoption Program sponsorships to pay for trail maintenance, dig days and events at Lysterfield. Behind every dollar raised is a volunteer writing the application or managing the partnership — no trail skills required.
The Roles
Two Ways You Can Help Fund the Trails
Both roles are flexible, mostly remote and built around your own schedule. Here’s what each one involves:
Grant Writers
Research funding opportunities through council, state government and MTB-specific grants, then help put applications together. We’ll pair you with someone from the committee for your first one, and grant writing experience is useful but not required.
TAP Support
Manage relationships with our Trail Adoption Program sponsors, make sure they get the recognition they’ve earned (signage, shoutouts, renewals) and help bring new sponsors on board. Ongoing, relationship-focused, and just a few hours a month.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily. Some grant writing or account management experience helps, but we’re happy to show you the ropes if you’re keen to learn. What matters most is being reliable and organised.
It varies. Grant writing tends to be bursty — a few focused hours around application deadlines. TAP support is more ongoing, usually just a few hours a month keeping sponsor relationships ticking over.
Yes, almost entirely. You’ll occasionally liaise with the committee or a sponsor, but there’s no requirement to be on-site at Lysterfield.
Someone from the committee will reach out within a week to talk through the role, what we’re currently working on, and whether it’s a good fit — before you commit to anything.
No, membership isn’t required to volunteer in these roles.
